ThemeWord 2010

For the past few years, I’ve come up with a single word to describe my overall goals and direction for the year. During 2009, it has been ACTION. And my single-minded goal was to simply take action on anything and everything I felt compelled to.

While I can’t say I did everything on my goal list, I must say that I got A LOT more done this way than any other method I’ve ever tried. I think that’s because taking ACTION is just so darn simple. There really isn’t anything else to do with it! You either take the action or you don’t. There is no in-between. Not much room for error. ;-)

And so I’m doing it again for 2010.

This time, my ThemeWord is going to be CREATE. I think it’s right along the same lines as ACTION – it doesn’t really allow much wiggle room. You either create or you don’t. It’s that simple. No shades of gray.

Kinda like Yoda said “Do or do not, there is no try.”

I hope you’ll come along for the ride! It should be exciting!

Distractions from Writing

Lunchtime. Yesterday. I made Hot Pockets for the kids and I. Nice change after eating soup all week with sick kids. So, got everyone’s pockets heated up, took mine out of the microwave, took a bite and holy schmuk!

That bugger burned my lip!

Note to self: Don’t eat Hot Pockets straight out of the microwave.

Today I have a nice little blister right on my bottom lip. Poor lip. Not a good place for a blister. And as long as I don’t try eat anything else, it really doesn’t hurt. Feels kinda weird, but not painful. Kinda like a blood blister or something.

I mean, it’s just there. A small bump on my lip. I can’t even see the thing, for crying out loud!

But . . . It’s very distracting.

You wouldn’t think it would be. But it is.
