So, I was literally just sitting here, getting ready to write a post about beginning some fiction work, when my growl notifier popped up a new message about the Amazon Breakthrough Novelist 2010 Award. No coincidence, I’m sure. How cool is that?
And because I know it isn’t just coincidence, it means I best get crackin’ if I’m going to enter! Submissions are being accepted from January 25 through February 7 ONLY!
Now I’ve got about 50-some-thousand words to write in the next few weeks! Yikes!
The entries are being accepted in only 2 categories this year – General Fiction and Young Adult Fiction. I haven’t yet decided which direction my story will go but I’m excited! Toying with the idea of finishing something I’ve already started or writing something entirely new.
What do you think? And am I crazy to think I can write 50+ thousand word novel in the next few weeks?
I guess we’ll see!
